Volunteering - Assistant Cabin Leader

The position of Assistant Cabin Leader reports to the Summer Program Director. Assistant Cabin Leaders have a very important role as a leader and role model for the campers.

A. General Responsibilities

  1. Assistant Cabin Leaders will be considered to be part of the weekly staff and will arrive at the designated staff meeting place at the time prescribed by the Camp Director. He/she will arrive at the same time as all staff and are required to participate in some training, ice breaking games and registration. All volunteers are expected to live on site and be available for the entire length of camp.
  2. Assistant Cabin Leaders will assist the Cabin Leader in all responsibilities regarding the safety and supervision of the campers.
  3. Sleep in the cabin with up to 8 children.
  4. Assist in leading activities and games for the campers.
  5. Encourage physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual growth.
  6. Participate in all staff development including morning meetings.
