The position of Summer Program Director is critical to the overall flow and organization of the summer camps.
A. General Responsibilities
- All staff are required to participate in training, ice breaking games and registration. All staff and volunteers are expected to live on site and be available for the entire length of camp. The Summer Program Director is involved in the activities of camp and will be plan and direct all staff meetings and attend all devotional times.
- The Summer Program Director must have a willingness to work as part of a team and to serve in a Christ-centred camp whose purpose is to minister to the whole camper - body, mind, and spirit.
B. Specific Duties
- Reports to the Camp Director.
- Attend all meals with the campers.
- Plan and direct staff meetings.
- Prepare weekly camp schedules and provide copies to the Camp Director, the Cook, all program staff and volunteers.
- Supervise the jobs of the Cabin Leaders, Assistant Cabin Leaders, Audio/Video Technician, Craftie, and Godparent.
- Coordinate their program with those of the Crew Leaders, MTL Leaders, Chaplain, Camp Priest, and Waterfront Director.
- Develop weekly themes based on the summer theme and to program the theme into as much of the schedule as possible.
- Plans, organizes and runs the overall activities of each camp.
- Work with the cook prior to any special meals planned in the schedule.
