General Information

Camp Columbia is a fantastic summer camp, 72 acres with 600 meters of unique waterfront property, forested trails and a large playing field. Added to our daily activities, we have special events and theme days that allow children to be creative and explore many new adventures at Camp Columbia. We have our renowned video taped cabin inspections that are shown each night and a weekly DVD highlighting all of the best events at Camp Columbia. Camp offers growth opportunities for all campers through activities like archery, tubing, The Blob, night games, swimming, skits, canoeing, arts & crafts and the quest program. Each week campers experience new friendships, learn new skills and have tons of fun in an active camp community. The food is fabulous and campers also have a tuck shop to visit daily. We accommodate vegetarian and medical dietary needs. Special needs campers are welcome but please phone camp before registration.

All of our staff are first aid certified and have previous experience working with children. We also have a 40 hour pre-summer training week that hones and adds to their existing skills in preparation for the summer we have planned.

We nuture the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of growth. Through our "Quest" program and daily devotionals, we give campers the experience of living in an open Christian community. We have a fully amplified band with musicians that bring campfires to a great level of excitement and fun.

Why Camp Columbia?

We specifically choose to offer children an experience as close to camping as possible. That doesn't sound so different from other camps, is it? It is! Camper cabins are not heated and have no electricity. We do not allow the use or possession of any electronics like video games and cell phones. Our program is tailored for interaction between the campers and with the staff. Our small numbers and atmosphere give campers an experience of a tight knit community that is impossible at a larger camp. Campers come to Camp Columbia and enjoy what you (the parents) remember as camping. We are not offering a resort type facility for children because we don't believe that is what camping is about. This is an experience of a lifetime and when your child or children return home, they will explain exactly what is so hard to describe here, the best camp in the world.
