May Work Weekend - posted 28th May 2003 A big "THANK YOU" to everybody who came out to Camp over the weekend to volunteer. The Job Jar keeps being replenished. However, we are making a difference and this is due to volunteers who give their time for Camp. Thanks to Eric for leading us in a Sunday morning music, prayer and praise service. Thanks to Martha ∓ Brian, Terri ∓ Sean, Barbara ∓ Paul, Fran, Patricia ∓ Norman, Kay ∓ Peter, Jan ∓ Adrian, Sarah, Allison, Ben, Cam, Aidan, Eric, Al and Dianne for coming to Thetis Island. Some stayed for a few hours and others for the weekend. Everyone adds to Camp. Heneage bedrooms now have mirrors, the windows are sparkling, Paul fixed the bunks, the weedwacker, capably used by both Brian and Terri, cleaned up the driveway and beachfront. No more potholes for a while thanks to our youth and Bottoms Up has a colourful floor. Calling all gardeners to Camp Columbia. We have lots of broom to be chopped down and lots of areas needing a tender loving gardener's hand. Just call Camp and let Susanne know you would like to give a couple of hours to gardening. You are welcome. Young Adults Weekend May 2nd-4th - posted May 14th 2003 Spending time with other Christians, relaxing, the games, the food, the speaker, are just some of the things people loved about this weekend. We all had an excellent time as Chris Yue challenged our faiths through his talks. We had a comfortable group of about 30 young adults ranging from 18-28 years old. Below are some of the moments captured throughout the weekend. We will definitely be looking forward to having this again next year! Thanks to all those who came out and let's keep our community HOT! Have a look at some pictures:

A few faithful followers attended our work weekend. All of the mattresses were placed back into the cabins and the dining hall got a new paint job. Things are shaping up for the
summer and we always appreciate the help! A huge thank-you to those who devoted their time this weekend. For information on how to help out Camp Columbia either financially or
through a work weekend, check in the webpage and our upcoming events or support page. Happy Camp Columbia Day!
March Work Weekend - posted Apr 4th 2003 The last 2 weekends in March were filled with smiling faces and dirty clothes. We had a select number of people come out to help with our work weekends. Images of Spirituality - posted Apr 4th 2003 53 incredible women of faith from all over Vancouver Island came together at Camp Columbia for Prayers of the Heart. A huge "thank you" to Sister Doreen and Sister Valerie for their capable leadership this weekend. It was an overwhelming success and promises to be an annual event. Thanks to everyone who offered to be a part in Camp life whether as a Parish contact, on our mailing list, Images Committee, Supporter and as volunteers. You all make a difference.

Dianne Marks awmarks@inetex.com St. John the divine Church Hall in Victoria was THE place to be on February 14th.Thanks to St. Johns for donating their hall to Camp for the evening. Thanks to Carolyn Knight and her artistry in transforming the hall into Paris in the 1920's. Merci beaucoup to Margaret Gibbs for preparing a gourmet French meal. Thanks to our volunteers, youth and adults, who ensured the success. A special merci beaucoup to Becka Wall for her inspiring talk about what Camp Columbia means to her. We are grateful to our supporters who donated auction items, bought tickets, and told us by your presence that Camp Columbia is dear to your hearts. Fundraising events take a lot of planning, organization, commitment and just plain hard work on the part of many people. We netted over $8100 to go towards our Summer Camping Program. CONGRATULATIONS and give yourselves a pat on the back. We believe February is a great month for a fundraiser and we will set a date for 2003 very soon. May we hear from many of you with suggestions on what type of fundraiser you would come out and support. Email camp with your suggestions or email me. Another Merci Beaucoup to our generous donors who provided items for our Fundraiser February 14th, 2003, net proceeds for summer 2003 Camp Columbia program.
